One-on-1
A DAY FOR PROSPECTIVE COLLEGE VOICE AND PIANO STUDENTS
TBA
Join us for One-on-1. If you are a young pianist or singer and thinking about a career in the arts, we invite you to check out this one day, one-of-a-kind opportunity at West Virginia University’s Creative Arts Center on TBA.
We created One-on-1 as a non-competitive experience for high school students who want to learn more about the exceptional piano and vocal programs at West Virginia University’s Division of Music and College of Creative Arts.
One-on-1 is a relaxed opportunity to receive an individualized “one-on-one” piano or voice lesson from one of WVU’s nationally known music faculty. Special sessions on topics such as “How to Apply to College,” “Careers in Music,” “The Art of Collaboration,” and “New Trends in Recording Technology” will be offered throughout the afternoon.
The day-long program also includes a special FAQ session for students and parents, a “behind the scenes” tour of WVU’s Creative Arts Center, and a recital by Division of Music students and faculty.
One-on-1 participants will have the option of spending additional time at the Creative Arts Center observing college music classes, ensemble rehearsals, and applied lessons. We welcome you to observe our program in action.
We hope you will join us for the 2010 One-on-1, and experience first-hand how WVU enables students to combine their individual love of music with the best of academics in a setting that’s designed for personal and artistic success.
